I too had mixed emotions. I spent months and months being SOOO hyped to see this and was dissapointed with the Phenoix storyline, it could of been done better and more correct.. It all felt very rushed.. Phenoix/Jean mostly stood there looking blank/confused up except when she killed Xavier and then in the end when she was killed by Wolverine. It could have been done a lot better.

It was exiciting though to see all the new characters. I felt that Angel should of had more time in the movie.. He barely had like 5 minutes in this movie... Also.. Where is Gambit?!? Was Iceman and Rogue even a couple in the books? I don't recall that.

Overall, it could of been done better but it still was enteraining to watch nonetheless. I don't think the cure is permanent though since Magneto seemed to be able to move that chess piece ever so slightly... So that should mean that Rogue.. Mystique and so on will regain their powers again. But.. why the hëll was Xavier killed? I was told though that in one title of xmen, he was killed and tranferred his soul into another person which is what the clip after the end credits seems to hint at. I'd like to read more about that storyline.

So yeah.. I was let down.. but i am hopeful that next one will be better and more well put together... At first i thought there wasn't going to be another one but the clip at the end makes me have some hope? Also there's always spin offs.

But man.. Xavier? If he changes bodies.. That means no more Patrick Stewart :( He was sooo perfect for Xavier.

I almost forgot:

Jean/Phoenix is a telepath who can set up a protective field that even Magneto couldn't penetrate. She could have destroyed Leech before she was within range of nullification.

Like in the comic book, the only thing that she wasn't immune to was human emotion. That's where Logan came in. He was the only one who could get close enough to her to kill her. Even Storm knew that. That's what their "discussion" was based on: could Wolverine ignore his heart and do what he had to do.

If Wolverine tried to do the same thing to Jean that he did to Magneto, Jean would have read his thoughts and shattered the needles with her mind. Even her mental powers couldn't shatter adamantium and Wolverine's regenerative powers countered her biological onslaughts, making it inevitable that he would be her "executioner."

Again, I think that there's more to this story than what we saw and I look forward to seeing it when the DVD comes out!

Have to say it: as tactical logic goes, it works for me. Anyone else would've been TK-ed to ash(and several dozen someone elses already were by that point).

I am also two minds about the film though I did enjoy it. Beast was well handled and I felt that he and the actress playing Kitty were the best two additions.

As for Jean, the way I see it is that Leech wouldn't have been able to get close enough for his power to have any effect before Jean tore off all his flesh for we saw Logan only survived because of his healing factor. The serum also most likely would have been ripped apart or turned on Logan before he got close enough to use it.
